Austin Bats’ Tyrone Jordan Could Be MVP
Anyone who is following the ABA stats would notice one player jumping off the page. His name is Tyrone Jordan, and he plays for the Austin Bats. He’s currently averaging 44 PPG, 5 APG, 5 RPG. The key stat obviously being his point total. While it’s not uncommon to see the top scorer of a professional basketball league average around 40 PPG, it’s the way he’s obtained this average that might shock you.
Jordan opened the season with a 51-point performance against the Midlothian Marshals. However, just a few weeks later, Jordan would drop a season high 79 points against the Texas Purple Kings. Lightning would strike twice as he would drop another 79 points against the Lonestar Crusaders in the final game of November. In the first 6 games of the season, Jordan had tallied 327 points for a per game average of 54.5 PPG.
Though his average has dropped a little since that hot start, Jordan still leads the entire league in scoring. Throughout the season, there has only been one game where Jordan has scored less than 30 points. When all is said and done, Jordan could be finding a new piece of hardware in his trophy case.
